Diagnostics

Is concern always present or intermittent?:
Intermittent Issues can be difficult to diagnose, and we charge for our time trying to replicate the concern.

Describe concern vehicle is having:
Describing in as much detail and as honest as possible will help minimize the time needed for diagnostics. Examples:

• Engine Hot/Cold?
• Weather Related?
• Acceleration/Coasting/Deacceleration?
• First Start/Driving after some time?
• Any lights on Dash?
• Any Codes found?
• Anything you think it might be, or what may have caused it?

Answering this as completely, honestly, and accurately as possible will help us fix your vehicle fast, as well as inexpensively as possible. THANK YOU!

Communication Codes can take up to 2-3 hours.

Having to deal with Battery issues upon arrival will have extra costs!

What Module?:
Do not use abbreviations!
Some Modules require 2 Keys present!
Some Transmission Control Modules Require the Shift Solenoid ID

Why does the Module Need Programming?:
Examples: Replaced Module, Codes, TSBS, etc.

Is the Module New or Used?

We Cannot Guarantee a Used Module will program and will still charge for the procedure

Is Module OEM/Factory or Aftermarket?

If Aftermarket: We Cannot Guarantee an Aftermarket Module will program and will still charge for the procedure!

Do you still have the old Module?
Always Keep Old Module Until work is fully completed!
We will take and sometimes purchase old modules from customers!

Many Calibrations need to have an alignment BEFORE calibration. We can let you know if this is needed!

Many Calibrations need to have a FULL fuel tank BEFORE calibration. We can let you know if this is needed!

Is vehicle equipped aftermarket lift/suspension/tires?
All vehicles with aftermarket lifts, suspensions and/or tires may not be able to be calibrated properly and we will need a signed waiver in order for us to attempt a calibration.

If at your shop, we need a clean bay and a flat floor for all Static Calibrations.

Key Programming

Individual / Commercial Customer?

All individual customers require to send us:

• A Clear Picture of their Driver’s License and Proof of vehicle ownership (Registration/Insurance/Bill of Sale).
• Text pictures to 1-825-412-0500 or Email to admin@droptheshopauto.ca

All Commercial customers are required to send us:
A letter or email with:

• Company Logo/Letterhead
• Name AND position of authorized person
• Vehicle VIN AND Mileage AND Location
• Description of what is needed AND why
• Have letter ready for pickup BEFORE appointment or email to admin@droptheshopauto.ca

What Type of Programming?:
Add a Key Programming:
      You have at least one working key that will start the vehicle!
      You just want to have an extra set of keys!
All Keys Lost Programming:
      You have no keys for the vehicle
      Minimum of 2 Keys will need to be programmed
      Erases Programming of all older keys
      Better Option for Thefts
